Providing Great Espresso Since 1985.

The Saeco Company was founded in 1976 with the express purpose of manufacturing espresso machines for home use and to be sold by third parties to the general public.  In an effort to automate espresso making to its fullest extent Saeco worked at perfecting the technology involved and in 1985 they saw the fruits of their labors achieved in the world’s first fully automatic espresso machine.

In 1999 the name of the company was changed to the Saeco International Group to better reflect their growing multinational footprint.  Later that same year Saeco acquired Gaggia S.p.A, which in doing so allowed them to further increase their sales ability.  In July of 2009 Saeco itself became the object of an acquisition by the Phillips Incorporated. This acquisition now makes Phillips the global leader in super automatic coffee machines.

Even with the acquisition the Saeco machines continue to be made to the same exacting standards as they always have and are some of the most sought after by people wanting a fully automatic espresso machine that really delivers.  Saeco manufactures six models of super espresso machines of which four have attained our minimum rating of four stars or higher.  These are the machines that we will focus on here.
